Tile can be hard to stand on for long periods and it is inherently cold but this can be eliminated with radiant heating.

These days companies sell treys that washers and dryers can go on in case of a leak which reduces the risk.
Solid hardwood would be the best however you must take into mind that it is thick from 3 4 to 1 so the adjoining floors if any would have to be propped up.
Engineered hardwood is ok but you have to be careful because a lot of it comes off of a roll and sort of pleats itself onto the floor in almost no time at all.
Ceramic and porcelain tile are classic laundry room flooring materials since they are durable easy to clean and waterproof if installed well.
Ceramic tiles are also appropriate for laundry room floors.
If the laundry room is open to other areas with hardwood running the same flooring in might make sense.
The great thing about hardwood floors though is that they can be redone is there is damage.
They re durable and waterproof but they aren t as easy to install as vinyl flooring.
